Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance crosses 40 lac policies & Rs 10,000 cr premium
Mumbai 03, August 2007: India's leading private life insurer, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance company started the new financial year with another major achievement and crossed the mega milestone of 40 lac (4 million) policies since start of operations in October in 2001. During this period the company received premium income of over Rs 10,000 cr (US $ 2.5 billion).
Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Sam Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company and Country Manager, Allianz said, "The simple and flexible products of Bajaj Allianz Life, which are well liked by the customers across the country, have helped us build a strong brand name and a customer franchise as we have been the fastest to sell over 40 lac policies amongst the private sector. In this period we have received over Rs 10,000 cr in premiums (US 2 billion). Sincere thanks to all our policy holders, agents, Bancassurance partners and corporate agents for helping us reach this landmark so fast."
After a strong 1st quarter performance this FY with profits of over Rs 30 cr the YTD performance for this FY has been strong and already crossed Rs 1000 cr in new business. Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance was the most profitable pvt. sector life insurance co. in FY 2006-07 with a profit of Rs 63 crores.
